21. Tear Down and Prep - February 27, 2005
I hit one unexpected snag when trying to separate the body from the chassis. Some previous owner had welded some sheet metal from the front firewall down to the chassis. I must have tried to separate the two for half an hour before I realized what was fighting me.
I was more than ready to start getting this body ready to be painted and put on to the chassis. But first I had to remove everything. - Just about the same time I came up with the idea of suspending the body by chains. And then another idea to make a rolling platform to set it on. This way I could keep everything in the garage and protected from the weather. Also, it allowed me to roll the body out of the garage so I could work outside in the bright sunlight, and with much fresher air.
